The Abodom Catholic is a KG, Primary, and JSS school that provides education for children from the ages 4 to 16. The school provides the children of the Abodum area with a solid education that helps the students prepare for Senior Secondary School. In addtion, the school also runs different social programs that are implemented throughout the community. These social programs include:

 HIV/AIDS education, community clean-up and periodically they plant trees in the town.Volunteers are needed at this school to teach and to help prepare activities for children before and after school.

The school is short-staffed and really need additional help in all areas. Not only is the help from volunteers benefical but the staff and students are very intersted in learning about other people and cultures from around the world.

Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school. This placement does not need any volunteers in the month of Mar and Aug. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-

 Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-

Volunteers will be able to partake in a number of different activities. During the school hours volunteers can prepare lesson plans, teach English, math, science or music lessons. They will also have the opportunity to set up lunchtime or extra-curricular activities. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to help prepare lesson plans, lunches and conduct music lessons. Other potential jobs include: coaching sports, setting up activities or games, tutoring and assisting with maintenance jobs. Helping with sports or games and helping with beautification of the compound
