Thinking back on my travels, I have fond memories of spring like temperatures as winter in Rio de Janeiro transitioned into spring. I was living in this hub of samba and soccer and though the seasonal changes were nothing like we know them in the northeast USA, the transition of seasons in Brazil was subtle yet noticeable.

The Cariocans (Rio natives) would begin to shed their jackets and go sleeveless in the streets.

And life on the beach began anew.

One sure fire sign of spring in Brazil were the acrobatic feats observed on the shores in Rio as well as small coastal towns all over the country. The agility of the participants was awesome.

Though I have never observed the rites of spring in quite the same way on the Island of Sanibel, I have watched the dolphins perform similar acrobatics as the Gulf waters warmed under a stronger sun.

Observance of the passage of time in the tropics is a studied art. No winter snow storms or abundant flowering trees divide the winter and spring.

But the watchful eye will see more subtle changes.

The wind warms, the day lengthens, the shadows diminish.

And, of course, crowds disperse, restaurants become less populated and accommodations become less expensive.

The months of April and May are among the nicest to visit Sanibel, as we have seen year after year!

And for die-hard sporting fans,  the season for baseball spectators begins in Spring.

The Southwest Florida area is home for spring training for Major League Baseball teams including the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins.

The Nintendo Wii Fit is an extremely popular unit and it can be extremely difficult to find it in stock. Nintendo has had a hard time keeping up with the great demand because everyone wants one of these units. Many people wonder if they will ever find a Wii Fit in stock.

One of the things that I can recommend for getting this unit is to go into your local game retailer or major chain store and talk with the electronics manager or the manager of the store if it is just a game retailer. Tell them you would like a Wii Fit or a Wii unit and find out when they get their shipments in. Typically they will tell you to call them every morning and see if a shipment is coming in. If it is coming in they will tell you and you can rush over and pick it up. One manager told me that if I do this everyday that I will be almost guaranteed to get a unit. They said the best thing is to just focus your efforts on one store, and chances are you will find a Wii Fit in Stock.

Now this method doesn’t work all the time just because there may be others trying this tactic as well, it may be too difficult to get away from work to pick up the unit as most of the time it becomes in stock during the work day, the cost of gas and time to get the unit can get expensive, and many other factors can make this strategy ineffective when it comes to finding a Wii Fit in stock.

All of the costs mentioned above add up, so if you really want the Wii Fit you should really look hard online for the unit. Even though you may pay a little bit more for it online just getting the unit and being guaranteed that it is on the way will be worth it to you. You have to weigh the pros and cons and determine what the best solution is for you.

This unit is awesome as it allows you to do aerobics, strength training, yoga, and balancing to work your core. The Wii Fit surely provides one of the best workouts of any machine out there today, and the best part of it all is that this unit is fun for the whole family. Your kids won’t even realize they are working out most of the time as they participate in these fun activities.

Another great feature of this unit is that it measures your progress as you move forward. You can track your progress by computer making your workouts better.

Strength Training

The Wii Fit offers a variety of Strength Training exercises. These include the single leg extensions, the jack knife, the lunge, a push-up and side plank, and turbo twists. All of these focus on increasing your overall strength.

Balancing

Another popular set of exercises that this unit offers is balancing which helps you keep you in shape. A few of these workouts include ski jumps, ski slalom, soccer heading, and balancing board.

Yoga

We all know that Yoga provides us many different benefits. Since it can really help you, the Wii Fit also guides you through several good Yoga moves including the tree pose, the half moon, the warrior, and deep breathing.

Aerobics

Featuring hoola hoop, the basic step, the run, and the two person run gives you a good aerobic workout to get your heart going. Working out and burning calories is now more fun thanks to the Nintendo Wii Fit.

One of the best features of this unit is that it will keep you in great shape. With all of these great features you know it will be nearly impossible to find a Wii Fit in stock at your local store, but if you look hard enough online you can find one for sale.

This soccer training in South Africa caught our attention while we were photographing it and immediately we switched to the canon 5d mark2’s HD video! Singing while training for their soccer team! We’d been photographing soccer all around South Africa and this was the first time we’d seen this, it was awesome!
They showed great skill in their footwork, discipline in their training, and then great voices too! This soccer team the Super Eagles of Paballelo in the Northern Cape of South Africa train everyday for their soccer games on weekends. This dry, sandy field is their training ground, littered with trash and patches of weed. PA Nepal is a grass-roots organization with a huge heart, but not a lot of resources or cash flow. They need volunteers who have a common vision and are capable of helping to launch new projects, assist in fundraising, help in administration, accounting and office management as well as volunteers who are good role models who can work with the children to encourage self confidence and self sufficiency. Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-

They specifically need volunteers to provide tutoring and assistance with homework and prepare educational activities, programs and field trips for the children to help improve their self confidence and self sufficiency. The director can also use help developing vocational training and programs for women in prison and she may need assistance with prison visits. The staff also require office assistance, accounting help and computer training, as well as help creating presentations, publications and funding proposals. PA Nepal also needs volunteers to just “lend a hand” to help the children get ready for school, assisting with dinner cleanup, teaching the kids proper hygiene, reading them books etc. Pitch in where you see a need!

Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school.
